We connect with women in the sex industry and in prisons through an outreach ministry called Emerge which offers free resources and assistance. The first outreach team began on Mother’s Day 2012 with three team members and a handful of gift bags. Since then our teams have grown and now visit approximately 2,500 ladies a year. Our goal is to empower women to fulfill their destiny by offering them greater choices than they may currently have.
In 2016 Emerge stretched its reach into ladies prisons across the country by offering free copies of the resource SHINE and follow up correspondence. Chaplains are now inviting For Dignity Director, Kelly Master to speak in person to ladies in prison.
Quotes from ladies concerning Emerge Outreach:
“The life of the club is hard! It’s always a bunch of secrets and you can’t talk about it. I just think it’s great that you are so supportive of us and I want to say thank you.”
“Emerge is a powerful voice of encouragement, support, and hope for all women of the industry. Kelly and the Emerge Team have shown me endless amounts of love and kindness.”
“The industry told me lies, gave me a false sense of self, and has made me believe that this is all I am worth. The ladies from Emerge have restored the truth in me! Sometimes all it takes is a small reminder to know your value. Thank you Emerge for reminding an exotic dancer of her value. Love you!”
“Emerge has never given up on me. I have been through a lot of ups and downs for the past few years and Emerge has been there for me through them all. They have never given up on me. I am grateful to have them in my life. They really do care for me as a person and have really taken the time out to show me.”
“I just want to express my thanks for the Inspirational Book “SHINE.” It is so nice to know people are thinking about us here in prison and that we are not alone.”
“Today I was blessed with the book SHINE in prison. I want you to know how touched I was to know you thought of us.”
“Thank you for taking the time out to pray and send us books. I truly appreciate it. It’s nice to know that people we don’t even know are praying for us. What a blessing!”
